Learn a little bit about who we are and what vertical movement is

The Brewer Fitness team has been busy this summer! We’ve been trekking all over the country, and the globe, meeting some great people, seeing great places, and installing our great equipment!  This blog series chronicles our fun journey.

Following Outdoor Retailer and the Psicobloc competition, packing up and hitting the road, the next day was spent driving through some of the most beautiful terrain this country has to offer. Moab, Arches National Park, and the Ute, Navajo, and Apache nations. Some people see the desert as a flat, boring wasteland, but if you take the time to stop and go for a quick (or preferably long) walk, you will end up in constant wonderment at some truly amazing things.

Two days in Santa Fe met me with many great meals and a great meeting and photoshoot at Outside Magazine. The photo team of Dustin Samman and his partner Yani Monzón quickly adapted to the challenges of shooting a large piece like the Treadwall. We had some great conversations and I hope we can make it back to Santa Fe sometime soon to get to know these amazing folks a little more. We can't wait to check out the Outside Magazine holiday gift guide this year, featuring the Treadwall Kore.

The last stretch of the trip was a straight shot up to Denver, Colorado. Taking the obvious Interstate 25 route was out of the cards; instead I opted for the beautiful 285N, driving through scenic high prairie and mountain passes. On the way I was able to get a small amount of climbing in at Tres Piedras. I found a few nice bouldering lines and some easy routes to solo.  From Tres Piedras, I headed north to a high elevation camp in the Pike National Forest. I got serenaded by more coyotes and a little later in the night I got to hear the gentle baying of some elks wandering by.

The last two days of my trip saw a few gym and dealer visits, as well as the last Treadwall install of the journey in the residence of a local Colorado climber who needed to add a little all-around climbing training to his new basement. I rounded this leg of the trip out with some really good Colorado beer, a quick visit to Erik Weihenmayer to make sure that his personal Treadwall was performing well, and a little bouldering.

Thanks for reading along about our fun, busy summer travels! Overall, it was not a bad trip for two short weeks on the road.

From Ireland to Utah, New Mexico and Colorado, I completed 5 installations, 4 teardowns, enjoyed a bunch of great meals, and met whole lot of new friends. The only way to make it better would be to make it longer and have a van large enough to carry everybody with me.

Where will the Brewer Fitness team wind up next?
